Google released the official version of Android 13 and began to push updates to Pixel phones. As one of the upgrades of the new system, Android 13 will support the Bluetooth LE Audio standard. According to a report by 9To5Google today, when Google employees made changes to the Android code, it was revealed that the Pixel 7 series phones will support the LE Audio Bluetooth standard. As you can see from the image, a Google employee asked if the relevant XML file for the Bluetooth LE Audio codec settings was actually used, or just an example. Another Google employee responded with a direct link to adding Bluetooth LE Audio settings to the Pixel 7 series.
Google Pixel 7 series to have better sound quality
The Google employee refers to the Pixel 7 series as “p22/p23a”, where “p22” refers to the Pixel phones that Google will release in the fall of 2022, namely the Pixel 7/7Pro models. “p23a” refers to the Pixel A series of phones that Google will release in 2023, probably the Google Pixel 7A. At present, the specific code of the Pixel 7/7Pro/7A has not been released. Thus, it is impossible to see how these three phones will support the Bluetooth LE Audio standard. However, the Google Pixel 7/7Pro / 7A series can provide better sound quality, lower power consumption and lower latency as long as they support the LE Audio Bluetooth standard.

Google Pixel 7 / Pro full range of models confirmed

Recently, these smartphones appeared in the list of REL radio frequency devices in Canada. This list exposes the full range of models.
The latest information reveals that four new Google phones with models GE2AE, GP4BC, GQML3 and GVU6C have been confirmed recently. Among them, GQML3 and GVU6C correspond to Google Pixel 7, while GE2AE and GP4BC correspond to Google Pixel 7 Pro. Combined with previous revelations, the former comes with a 6.3-inch punch-hole screen, while the Pixel 7 Pro will use the same 6.7-inch screen as the previous generation. This model will also support a high refresh rate of 120Hz. In addition, the main camera of both models will continue to use the Samsung GN1 sensor.
The Google Tensor 2 SoC will use Samsung’s manufacturing process like the previous generation. However, this new chip will use Samsung’s 4nm LPE process. The chip will have two high-performance super-core Cortex X1, two large-core Cortex A78 and four small-core Cortex A55. In addition, this chip will also use the ARMv9 instruction set. According to reports, the AnTuTu running score of this processor will exceed 800,000 points. Technically, the Tensor 2 processor is not a flagship chip because 2022 Android flagships exceed 1,000,000 on AnTuTu.
As for the smartphone, the rear strip camera module hosts three cameras arranged horizontally. There are reports that this device will include a periscope telephoto lens. In addition, the phone will also have the Android 13 operating system pre-installed. This will also be the industry’s first smartphone with the Android 13 system out-of-the-box.
Google Pixel 7 series certified by FCC
At Google’s I/O developer conference this year, Google disclosed the Pixel 7 series of mobile phones that will be officially released this fall. Jon Prosser reveals that the Google Pixel 7 series will arrive in mid-October. Near the release, this device already has FCC certification. According to MySmartPrice, four Google Pixel devices have appeared on the FCC website. The certification information shows that the models of these four devices are GE2AE, GQML3, GP4BC and GVU6C. Furthermore, the listing reveals that these smartphones will support Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth and NFC functions.
In addition, the 4 devices support multiple 5G frequency bands, including N2, N5, N7, N12, N25, N30, N38, N41, N48, N66, N71 and N77. Among them, GP4BC and GE2AE these two devices also have UWB (Ultra Wideband) functions. Considering that Google’s previously released Pixel 6 series only carried this feature on the Pixel 6 Pro, the GP4BC and GE2AE models are probably the Pixel 7 Pro.
Pixel 7 appearance same as Pixel 6
Previous reports on the Google Pixel 7 series reveal the appearance of these smartphones. The images reveal that overall, the Pixel 7 series will continue the “explosion-proof shield” style of the Pixel 6 series. This new series will come with better chips and we expect the performance to be better. According to popular Weibo leakster @DCS the Pixel 7 series will come with a 2K center single punch-hole flexible display. It will also use a ceramic body as well as a 50MP super-large main camera and a periscope multi-focus image.
The complete image specifications of the Pixel 7 / Pro have been exposed before. The leaker, Kuba points out that both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will use the 11MP Samsung 3J1 as the front sensor and the same Samsung GN1 main sensor as the previous generation. Compared with the Sony IMX381 ultra-wide-angle, the difference is that this year’s Pro telephoto sensor has been changed to Samsung GM1.
